New Seawall in West Palm Beach, FL

Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Service Provided: Construct new Seawall

We recently completed this new seawall build on the intercoastal waterway in West Palm Beach, FL. We were originally contacted to examine the existing seawall and see what repairs needed to be done. The homeowners wanted professional guidance from an experienced marine contractor.  After further analysis, we determined that the old seawall was past the point of repair. There were massive erosion issues, and the seawall was dilapidated. It was important to the homeowner that their property was protected. We offered to give them an estimate for a new seawall to protect their property and shoreline for years to come.

The new seawall was constructed using vinyl seawall panels, also known as sheet pile, and a concrete seawall cap. We also installed deadman anchors with tieback reinforcement into the panels and seawall cap. This ensures the new seawall will remain upright when faced with environmental elements. This build took about a month in total to construct. We, along with the homeowners, are happy with the result. This not only improved the property value of the home but also gave peace of mind to the owners moving forward. This seawall will stand the test of time since we build everything to engineered specifications, use industry leading marine-grade materials, and construct with precision.

Why this project matters:

  • Protects valuable waterfront property from erosion and flooding
  • Restores safety and functionality of the waterfront access
  • Adds long-term stability with reinforced tiebacks and concrete
  • Increases property value

Commercial Dock Repair in Palm Beach, FL

Location: Palm Beach, FL
Service Provided: Repair existing Dock

This is a project we recently completed for a condominium located on Palm Beach Island in Palm Beach, FL. The project consisted of repairing their existing dock by reinforcing the pilings, providing new sub-structure and decking, and installing accessory items. This was one of the largest repairs to an existing dock we have completed in recent years. The existing dock had concrete pilings installed with the original construction. These concrete pilings were cracking, spalling, and corroding. The engineer of record designed a system to encase the old concrete pilings with PVC protection. These PVC sleeves were then filled with new concrete to reinforce the structural integrity of the pilings. The additional concrete will be protected from deterioration by the new PVC sleeves. After the pilings were completed, we were able to reconstruct the sub-structure with marine-grade lumber and add new HDPE decking. The project was a huge success.

The condominium is pleased to provide a practically new dock for all the residents. Having a safe community space is important for condominiums. They will be able to enjoy the newly repaired dock for years to come.

Why this project matters:

  • Restores safety and functionality of the dock area
  • Provides a financially beneficial solution to their dock issues
  • Ensures longevity and structural integrity for years to come
  • Creates a safe and beautiful area for residents to interact together and utilize the waterfront property

New Boatlift in Manalapan, FL

Location: Manalapan, FL
Service Provided: Install new 50,000lb capacity Boatlift

This project was a recent boatlift installation to accommodate our client’s large and heavy boat. The boat that needed to be lifted required a 50,000lb capacity lift. After giving our client options, he chose a Tide Tamer Boatlift. A lift of this size is individually engineered to ensure correct specifications and function. The installation went seamlessly. We were able to punch through the thick rock layer beneath the mud surface to set our pilings. The boatlift was an 8-post lift that had 4 upper beams and 4 separate motors. The lift is gear-driven with marine-grade parts. The bunks were custom cut to fit the client’s specific boat.

Overall, the project was a success. Our client is happy that he can protect his boat by raising it out of the water while he isn’t using it. Boatlifts are very popular in the marine community due to their ability to keep the boat away from wave action, tidal fluctuation, and bio-growth. This massive boat is now protected with a brand new 50,000lb capacity Tide Tamer Boatlift.

Why this project matters:

  • Protects boat from wave action, tidal fluctuation, and bio-growth
  • Safe onboarding and offboarding
  • Ease of cleaning and repairing boat
  • Versatility for boat selection

New Rock Revetment and Dock in North Palm Beach, FL

Location: North Palm Beach, FL
Services Provided: Construct new Rock Revetment and Dock

We recently completed this new Rock Revetment and Dock project in North Palm Beach, FL. Rock Revetments, otherwise known as Rip-Rap or Rock Seawalls, serve the same purpose as a traditional sheet pile seawall. They are constructed to protect the shoreline from erosion and contain the property. Our client was faced with a large exposure (distance from mudline to top of wall) which would greatly increase the price of a traditional seawall. A Rock Revetment significantly cut down the cost of his shoreline protection.

The Rock Revetment construction went smoothly as we brought in about 6 truckloads of Florida limestone rock. We made sure to install our dock pilings prior to the rock going in. This way we didn’t have to dig out the area after the Rock Revetment was put in. Once the rock was installed, we could then construct the sub-structure and decking on the dock. Our client can now enjoy his waterfront home with the knowledge that his property is protected from erosion.

Why this project matters:

  • Beautiful seating area on the water
  • Protection from erosion and flooding
  • Environmentally friendly solution to shoreline protection
  • Increase property value

Frequently Asked Questions About Marine Construction in Palm Beach County

The timeline for seawall construction in West Palm Beach typically ranges from 3-6 weeks depending on the project size and complexity. Our recent West Palm Beach seawall project took approximately one month from start to completion. Factors that affect timeline include property access, permitting requirements, weather conditions, and the extent of the seawall installation.

Both serve to protect your shoreline from erosion, but they differ in construction and cost. Traditional seawalls use vinyl sheet pile panels with concrete caps, while rock revetments (rip-rap) use large limestone rocks. Rock revetments are often more cost-effective for properties with larger exposure distances and provide an environmentally friendly solution that allows natural water flow.

Choosing the right boatlift capacity depends on your boat’s weight, size, and type. We install customized lifts ranging from 1,000 to 60,000 lb capacity. For larger vessels, we recommend individually engineered solutions like our recent 50,000lb Tide Tamer installation in Manalapan. Our recent commercial dock repair project in Palm Beach involved reinforcing existing concrete pilings with PVC sleeves and new concrete, then rebuilding the sub-structure and decking.
