Installation depends on the type of floating dock you select. Many Coast Seawall Dock & Boatlifts floating docks are easy to install with our help. Our installation experts are always happy to handle it for you. That process often takes at least a day.
Other floating docks need extensive installation, particularly if you’re responsible for connecting the floatation devices yourself. However, to install a floating dock, you need to:
- Pick and prepare the dock location according to local laws, regulations, and codes.
- Install the couplers through the in-water coupler installation tool.
- Anchor the dock to keep it in place during turbulent weather or water conditions.
- Attach the dock to a gangway, if applicable.
- Add your preferred accessories, like handrails, ladders, seats, boxes, bumpers, and edging to your floating dock.
- Enjoy your new dock.
Many of our customers wonder what the size regulations are on a dock. The size comes down to the length and width of the dock as well as the overall squat footage of the terminal platform.
The size of your dock is often dependent on where you are looking to build. There are usually regulations from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Army Corps of Engineers, or your local municipality that determine just how much you’re allowed to build over the water.
